Ivo's Projects

Building a sustainable and affordable energy network.

Ivo has dedicated a large portion of his professional career towards helping the world transition to more sustainable energy technologies.

Ivo spent 12 years at Forum Energy Technologies, a company offering solutions in the oil, natural gas and renewable energy  industries.

He served as Vice President of the Energy Transition Unit, driving its growth and guiding the

development of technology and products designed to lower the carbon footprint of the company’s customer and drive real change and innovation across the economy.

FET's Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) play a crucial role in offshore wind development. ROVs are used for underwater inspection, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine foundations and cables, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. LARS systems facilitate the safe deployment and retrieval of ROVs from the support vessels, even in challenging sea conditions. Together, these technologies enhance the construction, maintenance, and reliability of offshore wind farms, contributing to the sustainable generation of renewable energy.

While at FET's Global Tubing product line, Ivo spearheaded the use of the company's Coiled Line Pipe product for one of the largest Carbon Capture Use and Storage (CCUS) projects in the US. The product development not only was fundamental in achieving the project's budget and timelines, but it also greatly reduced the operator's Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for the execution of the project, by greatly reducing the time, labor and support equipment and resources required.

Looking to the future, Ivo is interested in the development of new and exciting technologies that will enable the global energy sector to rapidly transition to more efficient and sustainable solutions.

Bringing financial inclusion to the globally underbanked.

Having spent much of his career working across developing and high-growth economies, Ivo believes in the power of technology to drive meaningful, lasting change, particularly in rural and digitally underserved communities. That belief continues to shape his work today.

In July 2025, Ivo joined Whizmo as Global Chief Operating Officer and as a Board Member. His role focuses on turning financial inclusion from strategy into execution - overseeing the delivery of wallets, remittances,

payments, cash networks and business services across complex, regulated markets.

Alongside this, he leads Whizmo’s expansion across Africa, the GCC and Latin America, combining commercial focus with operational control to enter and scale in some of the world’s most complex but high-potential markets. He also oversees external engagement, including strategic partnerships, media positioning and policymaker relationships, helping to navigate the regulatory and political environments critical to success.

Drawing from his decades of corporate experience navigating developing markets – from complex regulatory systems, fragmented infrastructure and gaps in local expertise, Whizmo is focused on addressing these barriers, enabling more people to access and use financial services as part of everyday life.

Financial inclusion is a crucial component of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at creating a better world by 2030. It specifically aligns with SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), among others. In simple terms, financial inclusion means ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or income level, has access to affordable and reliable financial services. This includes banking, loans, insurance, and savings accounts.

When people have access to these financial services, they can better manage their money, start businesses, invest in education or healthcare, and withstand financial shocks like unexpected expenses. Financial inclusion empowers individuals and communities by giving them the tools to improve their lives, contribute to economic growth, and reduce poverty. It also promotes equality and supports economic development by enabling marginalized groups, such as women and small-scale entrepreneurs, to participate more fully in the economy.

By making financial services more accessible, the UN aims to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their communities, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and equitable world for all.

Through Whizmo’s work, Ivo is focused on making that vision practical: building the infrastructure, partnerships and operational capability required to deliver financial services at scale, and to ensure that more people can participate in the global economy.

Ensuring global food security
for all.

As a global citizen, who has spent a lot of time working across the world, Ivo is passionate about protecting global food supply lines. In 2007, Ivo founded TrakiaBio Product, a company that uses cutting-edge farming techniques to cultivate and harvest specialty crops while championing environmental stewardship.

At TrakiaBio Product, our dedication to growing staple crops like wheat, corn, and sunflowers aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of Zero Hunger.
